US standard drinks

One US standard drink = 14 g of pure alcohol. The 2025–2030 US Dietary Guidelines advise drinking less, without a set number.
The less you drink, the lower the risk. There's no completely safe level of alcohol. Don't drink and drive, and don't drink if you're pregnant or trying to get pregnant, under 18, or taking medicines that interact with alcohol. If you're worried about your drinking, talk to a doctor or a support service.
